Tip of the Month: Open Gym



As the weather gets more and more fierce, Moms are looking for fun things to do more than ever!  An inexpensive way to get your little one out of the house is open gym...  A few open gym websites and tips are listed below.  Prices are around $10 per open gym session, and it might be a good idea to look into the age-appropriateness of the facility....


  • Bounce U 70 Eisenhower Drive Paramus, NJ 07652 (201)843-5880.  They have REALLY cool inflated-climbers, but look into the website: http://www.bounceu.com/open-bounce-u/ to see if your child is going to be into it- little ones might want to wait until they're a little older.  They'll love it soon, too!  
  • Gymboree see website for details- locations all over NJ: http://www.gymboreeclasses.com/index.jsp
  • Kid-Kazooom 49 East Midland Avenue Paramus, NJ (201)225-1212.  Cost: $10 for one hour, $5 each additional.  Website: www.kidz-kazoom.com.  Tip: if you click on this link: http://us1.forward-to-friend.com/forward/preview?u=2056475219628a17f7cad60d4&id=73588bf6fb   you can get one free admission once you've registered your email with the site.
  • Jump on In 85 Fulton St Boonton, NJ 07005 (973)588-7733.  They offer a number of open gym classes, but you must sign up prior to coming at: http://www.jumponinfun.com.  Click on the Boonton, NJ option.  
  • The Little Gym 5 Route 17 South Hasbrouck Heights, NJ 07604 (201)365-4051.  They offer a Parent's Survival Night that includes open play for kids ages 3 to 12 years so that Mom's and Dad's can go out for a few hours, and know that the kids are having fun, too!  Call to schedule or go to: http://thelittlegym1.reachlocal.com and click on schedule to access Parent's Survival Night.  They'll also give you a free introductory class.  Go to the website for more details.

    1. You might want to add KidsU in Paramus - they have a lot of classes, and when you sign up for a class you get free access to their play Quad while you're enrolled in the class - a nice bonus in bad weather!

    2. I was under the impression that at Kids U, you needed to enroll in class in order to participate in open gym? Do they have any sort of pay to play sort of thing?
